Greetings from Chile!

The term “UC Chile” likely refers to Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Spanish), a prestigious and well-respected university located in Santiago, Chile. Founded in 1888, it is one of the oldest and most prominent universities in Chile and Latin America. UC Chile is known for its high academic standards and offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields, including science, technology, engineering, humanities, social sciences, and the arts.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for Short-Terms Programs at UC Chile is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

1. Intercultural Approaches for Public Health Program

The Initiative offers conceptual and empirical elements of social sciences to place health-disease processes in a complex sociocultural environment. It provides a varied vision of medicine and its history, considering different medical systems and going deeply into traditional Mapuche and Aymara medicine and its worldview. Both tensions and exchanges between globalization processes and local identities are analyzed along with the presentation of the intercultural approach as an analytical perspective and practical strategy in the health systems.
