Professor Ottow expressed the importance of collaboration opportunities in her opening statement, “We have a lot of thoughts about collaboration platforms and all the nice things we should (have) going on. It’s very important for us to stress how important this is.”
Both universities are committed to preserve the strong relationship. Mr. Ignatius Susatyo Wijoyo, UGM’s Vice Rector for Research, Business Development and Partnerships, further asserted Professor Ottow’s statement, “I think we should look forward to keeping the collaboration between Leiden (University) and UGM. It is inspirational that we can go into deeper collaboration between faculties here.”
The courtesy meeting discussed possible means of further collaboration, such as consortiums and umbrella agreements to kickstart the activities. Topics such as sustainability, biodiversity, medical system, and infrastructure, especially pertaining the establishment of Indonesian new capital in Kalimantan, were highlighted.
“Start with real action”, said Mr. Susatyo Wijoyo as he concluded the meeting.
