[Japan] Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Program at GSAPS, Waseda University

Waseda University Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies International Relations Program was selected for the International Priority Graduate Program (PGP) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). The PGP program, which was created by MEXT to support programs that have international appeal to foreign students, provides priority allocation for government-financed foreign students. This program awards a full scholarship including a round trip air fee, tuition, entrance fee, and monthly stipend for 2 years of MA program and 3 years for Ph.D. program in Japan. The application period for September 2023 Entry is January 16 – January 25, 2023 (JST). A detailed outline of the selected program and the application procedure are as follows.

An embassy-recommended, government-sponsored international student is a student who applies to receive a government scholarship through the Japanese embassy or consulate in their home country. Please refer to CIE (Center of International Education, Waseda University) Website.

Students should apply for the scholarship at the Japanese embassy or consulate. The Embassy or consulate selects students through document screening, examination, and interviews. Please contact the Japanese embassy or consulate for further details.

・Domestic Selection

This is a government-sponsored scholarship for privately financed international students who are enrolled as regular degree-seeking students at Waseda University. This scholarship will apply only AFTER matriculation.
