Saitama University (Japan)

Saitama University is a higher education institution based in Saitama, Japan. It was founded in 1949 as the only one national university established in Saitama Prefecture.  Saitama is just north of Tokyo, known for its well-developed industries and cultures. 

At Saitama University, all academic departments and graduate schools are located on a single campus.There are five undergraduate programs : Liberal Arts; Education; Economics; Science; and Engineering. Saitama University also offers three graduate programs, including Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering, and Education. Saitama University is the alma mater of 2015 Noble Prize in Physics Winner, Takaaki Kajita. 

 Saitama University has a lot of ongoing international cooperation projects focusing on developing countries. One of them is Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship, where Saitama University receives students from Myanmar, Mongolia, Vietnam, and Nepal through the JICA Scholarship Program. The Department of Science and Engineering is in charge of this project.
