Greetings from Chubu University, Japan!

Standing strong with their motto: “ACTA, NON VERBA”, Chubu University aims at contributing to society’s progress by developing reliable individuals who are highly cultivated and have a cosmopolitan outlook, specialized capabilities and the ability to act and who are independent, yet care about the public good. Considerations for the 2022 Spring Exchange Program

  1. Consider the exchange program as an on-site program. The format of class instruction for spring 2022 has not yet been decided. Classes will either be held face-to-face or online, or it may be a combination of both. Off-site activities and other experiential learning activities may be cancelled. Also, please note that class content is subject to change.
  2. In case it’s difficult for students to visit Japan, we would like to know whether they are interested in taking classes online or not. *We can offer almost all classes for “Japanese Language and Culture Program” online except cultural activities; however, for students who wish to enroll in the “undegraduate course,” they will only be able to choose from the limited number of classes that are offered online.
  3. Please remember that your students need to follow the guideline of Japanese government upon their arrival to Japan. We would like your students to consider possible expenses pertaining to the entry restrictions, such as COVID-19 testing before coming to Japan and accommodation for 14-day self-quarantine. Chubu University will arrange an airport hotel for self-quarantine period. Estimated expenses will be around 150,000 Japanese yen excluding meals.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • The implementation/execution of this program will be carefully reconsidered depends on the latest development of COVID-19 and the government’s regulation
  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
