Warm greetings from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic!
Charles University was founded in 1348, during the period of King of Bohemia and the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV. As one of the oldest universities, Charles University has come a long way—from medieval times, World War, until now— and has marked its path as one of the world’s most prestigious academic and research institutions. A noteworthy example is Professor Jaroslav Heyrovský’s inventions in polarography, for which he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1959.
The Online Summer University 2021 organized by the Institute of International Studies of Charles University Prague will provide students with a broad understanding of the most significant impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on international relations and Europe. The key objective is to analyze how Europe’s prospects are currently being shaped in a time of profound global socio-political change, and the context for a future post-coronavirus restart. During the course, students will improve their research, communication, and argumentation skills and learn how to use them in the online environment.
