 Kangwon National University (KNU) was established in 1947 in Chuncheon, Gangwon-Do, South Korea. Initially established as an agricultural college, Kangwon National University has steadily expanded to a comprehensive university encompassing a full spectrum of academic fields. Kangwon National University serves as the flagship educational institution of Gangwon-do.

We are glad to inform you that the Kangwon National University Ph.D Scholarship program is now open for faculty members of Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

  • Agricultural & Resource Economics (Ph.D. in Economics)
  • International Trade (Ph.D. in International Trade)

 

  1. Scholarships and Benefits

 

– Scholarship Period: 3 years of Doctoral programs 

  • Round-trip travel (one time only): Round-trip economy class ticket
  • Monthly Allowance: 1,100 USD per month
  • Relocation(Settlement) Allowance (one time only): 300 USD upon arrival
  • Tuitions: All admission fees are waived by the host institution
  • Dissertation Printing Costs: 400~600 USD, depending on the actual coasts
  • Language Training Fee and Medical Insurance

 

Application Timeline

  • Document Submission Deadline : March 26, 2021
  • Notification of eligibility for interview : April 12, 2021
  • Interview :April 19  ~ April 23, 2021
  • Finalized candidates and notification to KCUE : April 30, 2021

 

Eligibility

  • Applicants hold citizenship in one of the ASEAN countries 
  • Currently be a full-time faculty member working at a university in University of Gadjah Mada
  • Applicants must possess a master’s degree or its equivalent as the highest level of educational attainment.
  • Applicants must have discussed their study leave with the university to which they originally belong, as well as about how they plan to contribute to their school after their return.

Application Procedure

  1. Finish the application to Kangwon National University directly: http://www.kangwon.ac.kr/english/contents.do?key=2044& no later than March 26th, 2021.
  2. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form:http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than March 26th, 2021 for OIA’s internal documentation and nomination.
  3. THE FINAL decision from Kangwon National University.
