[South Korea] Busan University of Foreign Studies – 2021 Summer Semester Admission

Warm greetings from Busan University of Foreign Studies in South Korea!

 

Busan University of Foreign Studies was founded in 1981 by the late Chung Tae-sung. His philosophy for education was that young intellectual minds must become leaders internationally. Busan University of Foreign Studies was founded as a college for studying foreign languages in April 1982 with its first students studying English, French, Japanese, Chinese, German, Indonesian, Malay, and Thai. Through the 1980s, the college expanded its programs and finally became a university in 1991. As of 2009, Busan University of Foreign Studies has academic exchange program agreements with 94 universities in 24 countries.

 

We are glad to inform you that the Busan University of Foreign Studies 2021 Summer Semester Admission is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students. This is a paid program, please be prepared for the financial needs.

Eligibility

  1. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
  2. Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
  3. Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least TOEFL ITP 550, TOEFL iBT 79, or IELTS 6.5.

  3. Study Plan
  4. Copy of proof of enrollment
  5. Official Academic Transcript record
  6. Color copy of the passport
  7. A recommendation letter from an academic supervisor or International Office in their home university
  8. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
  9. Application form (download)
  10. Letter of self-introduction and study plan (download)
  11. Certificate of English proficiency test (ex. TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS)
  12. Certificate of TOPIK test (ex. TOPIK) (if any)
  13. Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
  14. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)

 

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned to www.bufs.ac.kr no later than March 19th, 2021
  2. The FINAL decision from Busan University of Foreign Studies

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • The application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2021/2022 will be processed, but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest COVID-19 and government regulations.
