[Scholarship] Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme – Scholarship Graduate S3

Warm greetings!

 

We’re delighted to inform you that the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong is launching the Twelfth Round of the Hong Kong Ph.D. Fellowship Scheme (the “Scheme”). 

 

The Scheme aims to attract top international students to pursue Ph.D. studies in Hong Kong’s world-class research universities.  The fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK$26,600 (approx. US$3,400) and a conference and a research-related travel allowance of HK$13,300 (approx. US$1,700) per year for a period of three years.  300 fellowships will be awarded for Ph.D. studies commencing in the 2021/22 academic year.

Eligibility

  1. Graduate Students (S3)
  2. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
  3. Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least TOEFL ITP 550, TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5.

  2. Motivation Letter
  3. Official Academic Transcript record
  4. Research Plan
  5. A recommendation letter from an academic supervisor
  6. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
  7. Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
  8. English Language Proficiency Certificate
  9. All the document listed as required on the Poster & Leaflet above
  10. Copy of passport photo identification page
  11. Passport picture
  12. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)

 

Application Procedure

    1. You may proceed to the online application directly using the given links in the Poster & Leaflet above. If you need recommendation from OIA, you may fill this Form:http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication 2020 no later than November, 15th 2020.
    2. The FINAL decision from the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
