Greetings from Sejong University, South Korea!
Sejong University is a private university in Seoul, South Korea renowned for its prestige in tourism and hospitality, dances, animation, and gymnastics of the rhythmic world. Founded in 1978 in honor of Sejong the Great, the Fourth King of Joseon and overseer of the creation of the Korean alphabet, Hangul, as Kyung Sung Humanities Institute was converted into the present name of the Institute.
Sejong University’s history started in Mai 1940 when Dr. Youngha Choo and Dr. Okja Choi founded the Kyung Sung Humanities Institute. In 1947 it was reorganized and turned into a junior college with Dr. Choo as his first director and the Seoul Women Teachers’ Institute. 1954 Soodo Women’s Teachers’ College was founded. In 1961, and in 1962, it was relocated to its new Kunja-Dong campus. The college has become a four-year institution. The Graduate School was established in 1966. In 1973 a collection of Korean antiquities was set up at the Soodo Museum (now Sejong Museum University) and opened its doors to the public. The Soodo Women Teachers College changed its name to Sejong College in 1979 and for the first time accepted male graduates.
We are pleased to inform you that the Application Sejong University Research Assistant Scholarship in Spring 2021 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.
Every semester Sejong University look for eligible and skilled postgraduate students who would be interested to study and work on their research expertise with our academic team as a Research Assistant while taking their postgraduate degree (Masters, Joint, and PhD). As a Research Assistant, the individual will receive 100% Scholarship all throughout the degree, $500-$1,500 stipend monthly, health insurance, and accommodation support.
Eligibility
- Graduate students (S2) & (S3)
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
- Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least TOEFL ITP 550, TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5.

Application Procedure
- Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form:http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than October 19th, 2020 for internal review.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Sejong University and you may proceed to the online application.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
- Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
