We are pleased to announce the call for the application of the China-AUN Scholarship (Chinese Government Scholarship – AUN Program) 2020/2021.
The China-AUN Scholarship is a full scholarship established by the Ministry of Education, People’s Republic of China, to sponsor students, teachers, and scholars from ASEAN nations to study in China and to enhance the academic exchange and mutual understanding between China and ASEAN members. For the academic year 2020/2021, there are 30 scholarships available.
Eligibility
- Applicants must be a citizen of an ASEAN member country (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), and be in good health
- The requirements for applicants’ degree and age:

- be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 35 when applying for the master’s program.
- be a master’s degree holder under the age of 40 when applying for the doctoral programs.
Scholarship
Tuition waiver, accommodation, stipend, and comprehensive medical insurance.

Required Documents
- Letter of Nomination from faculty (*addressed to Head of Office of International Affairs; for students, staffs, and lecturers of UGM)
- Certificate of Enrollment from faculty (*for students only)
- Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (*written in Chinese or English)
- Notarized highest diploma (*written in Chinese or English)
- Academic transcripts (*written in Chinese or English)
- A Study Plan or Research Proposal (*written in Chinese or English; should be a minimum of 800 words)
- Two Recommendation Letters (*written in Chinese or English)
- The copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form
The original copy will be kept by yourself and the form is uniformly printed by Chinese healthy quarantine departments. It must be written in English and can be downloaded from https://drive.google.com/file/d/13A9ezP8jZMTh24BOnawhu1eMEu6AYnsF/view?usp=sharing
The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.
- The copy of Pre-admission Letter from designated Chinese university (if available)
- A copy of a valid HSK Certificate (if available)
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Complete the online application to the CGS Information Management System for International Students (Chinese Government) directly.
- Submit the aforementioned documents and the proof of online application to the Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur F-13) for internal review.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application.
- Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will send your nomination to the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Secretariat for scholarship selection.
- THE FINAL decision from the ASEAN University Network (AUN) Secretariat and Chinese Government.
Please send all documents above in hardcopy (2 COPIES) to Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur Block F-13) and softcopy (compiled in 1 PDF file) to scholarship@ugm.ac.id no later than January 6th, 2020.
