[Japan] Nara Women's University – Student Exchange Program 2018/2019

Nara Women’s University exists to provide female students with the highest learning environment, and our main purpose has been to foster women who can succeed in society through education and research. Therefore, our regular students are all female and most of the exchange students are female as well.
If there are male students who still would like to take our classes and receive credits, or do research with a specific teacher at our university, understanding our purpose and the environment, please let us know before applying for the program. In addition to that, please be notified that we might not be able to accept a student depending on his/her major or when he/she would like to start studying.

[Japan] Nagoya University – Nagoya University Short-term Japanese Language Program (NUSTEP) 2018

The Nagoya University Short-Term Japanese Language Program (NUSTEP) offers two week of intensive Japanese classes. Participants will join specialized lectures by faculty and visit some of the laboratories on campus. We aim to promote a greater understanding of Japanese culture and society.
The program also provides various on and off-campus activities such as cultural excursions, field trips, exchanges and discussions with Nagoya University students. All participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the program.

G-STEP is a two-week program open during summer and winter vacations. And this summer, Gachon University is providing exclusively Beauty Design class (nail art) for students. Students can earn credits and a certificate if they pass the exam on the last day of the class. G-STEP also offers several other classes such as Korean Language or Nursing.

We are accepting a few full-time undergraduate and/or graduate students from your institution under the student exchange agreement between Ibaraki University and your institution.

Eligibility
Applicants must be full-time undergraduate/graduate students at your institution.
(1) Students who demonstrate academic excellence and personal integrity
(2) Students who do not intend to seek a degree at Ibaraki University
(3) Students who have a definite purpose and plan of study abroad and are expected  to obtain benefits through studying in Japan
(4) Students who, while studying at Ibaraki University, continue to be registered as a full-time student at your university and return to your university to continue their studies or to graduate from your university, as soon as they complete the period of studying at Ibaraki University.
Monthly stipend: ¥40,000 (up to 10 months)

Smart City, Village, and Region (SCVR) Summer Course is short-term intensive course that takes place in Faculty of Geography, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia. This summer course is designed for students who are willing to learn and work hard to improve their understanding, knowledge and skill in smart city, village, and region. Various participants are encouraged to join this course in order to enrich the discussion; from undergraduate, post graduate, professional, and also institutions. Not only participants will learn the necessary knowledge in class, but also they will do an excursion around Yogyakarta and Surakarta to do direct observation of smart city, village and region implementation in this area.

Preparing for the next academic year, we crafted an offer perfect for those of your students eager to acquire greater language proficiency. English language proficiency is the most important requirement to get enrolled in international study programmes. In the case foreign students have not mastered English at a desirable level, they have two options at the University of Opole. The first one is to:
  • participate in the 3-week Summer School (459 Euros – available the next year) during which students combine vacations with intensive language classes and afterclass activities. SUMMER COURSE: Youth Leadership Program on Sustainable Development
 in conjunction with The 2nd Indonesian Youth Conference on Sustainable Development – “Community Resilience for Promoting Sustainable Development Goals in Changing Climate” 12-21 September 2017
In this leadership course the participants will learn about SDGs, policy and agenda that currently influence sustainability worldwide and how the participants could engage with the movement, position themselves as local and global communities.  The program is designed employing various methodologies which expose the participants with various issues and practices related to sustainable development including interactive lectures and discussion, case building, team work, communication skills through poster, presentation, writing,  debate and interview with community, and action program within community. The course is structured over a period of 10 days including participating in youth conference at the end of the leadership course, equal to 3 credits.

The recent 2015 report by the United Nations predicted that by 2050, the world population will grow to 9.7 billion, wherein half of them reside in Asia (54.1 percent), an estimated growth of 19.9 percent from 2015. Social changes and economic shifts in Asia, coupled with recent financial crises, pose significant challenges to sustainable development and business practices in Asia and around the globe. While there are urgency on developing, planning and implementing sustainable strategies to enable and ensure productivity and viability of businesses, new opportunities are also opening up, requiring innovative strategies at all levels to ensure productivity of workers and successful business practices.
Business practices that seize new opportunities with innovations pose a great challenge for Asian firms in the 21st century. The potential growth of the region calls for close collaboration between universities, research institutes and government agencies for the advancement of new knowledge on sustainable business practices as well as on required institutional changes. Social changes accompanying the economic growth and the expansion of the financial market raise new concerns that need to be addressed at the same time. With an unprecedented new horizon opening up for the future of Asia, this conference calls for in-depth discussion to identify new sources of opportunities, by exploring new strategies that enable changes, enhance sustainable growth and meet rising challenges facing firms in Asia.
