Dr. Gerald Reisinger (President/CEO of UASUA), Ing. DI (FH) Werner Pamminger, MBA. (CEO of Business Development of UASUA), Prof. Dr. Peter Kremser (Representative in Indonesia of UASUA), and Dr. Marc Peeters (owner of BNV) paid a visit to UGM on Friday, July 14, 2023. They were cordially welcomed by Ignatius Susatyo Wijoyo, S.E., M.M., Vice Rector for Research, Business Development and Partnerships, Prof. Dr. Puji Astuti, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt., Director of Partnerships and Global Relations, and representatives from Vocational School, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Agrotechnology Innovation Center, Biotechnology Study Center, Biotechnology Study Program, and Directorate of Research and Community Service.

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is one of the ASEAN University Network Board of Trustees (AUN-BOT) and being part of this network since it was formed in 1995. The AUN was established to address the need for the region to quickly develop a regional identity and solidarity while promoting the fostering of ASEAN talents by creating a platform to allow the region’s leading higher institutions to collaborate. Being one the AUN-BOT, the UGM’s Rector and university leaderships always attend the AUN Rectors’ Meeting and AUN BOT Meeting to share thoughts and insight with other members towards giving a contribution to the region’s development.  The strong commitment of UGM in the network is also seen in joining most of the AUN Thematic Networks like AUN-QA, AUN-BE, AUN/SEED-Net, AUN-HRE, AUN-USR&S, AUN-ACT, AUN-EEC and many more.

Following UGM’s last visit by the Rector and several delegates to Nottingham, the University of Nottingham (UoN) paid a return visit to UGM on 28 July 2023. This visit was led by Dr. Bagus Muljadi (Chairman of UKICIS) and consisted of three other delegates, namely Professor Patrick Wheeler (Director of Power Electronics Machines and Control Group and Head of Global Engagement, Faculty of Engineering), Professor Meryem Duygun (Professor of Banking and Finance at the Nottingham University Business School) and Ms. Shannon Baverstock (Global Engagement Manager). On UGM’s side, Prof. Dr. Puji Astuti, S.Si., M.Sc., Apt. (Director for Partnerships, Alumni and Global Initiatives) welcomed the UoN delegates together with the Dean of Graduate School, Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Partnerships and Alumni Faculty of Economics and Business, Vice Dean for Research, Community Service and Partnerships Faculty of Biology and representatives from the Faculty of Engineering.

LPDP organizes master/doctoral scholarship programs for Indonesia’s best candidates and supports other scholarship programs from related Ministries/Institutions. Kicking off from 6 June 2023 until 9 June 2023, a delegation from UGM, led by the Rector, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D., carried strategic missions during a series of visitation to eight existing university partners in the UK. The delegation consists of the Vice Rector for Education and Learning, Dean of Veterinary Medicine, Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Dean of Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Dean of Faculty of Psychology, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Dean of Vocational College, Dean of Biology, Dean of Graduate School, Director of Partnership, Alumni, Global Initiatives, and the Chair for Health Promoting University (HPU) UGM.
