Greetings from Taiwan!

In an effort to encourage outstanding students from the Indo-Pacific to
study in Taiwan and explore the diverse culture of Taiwan, the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) initiated the New Southbound Policy Short-term Study Program. Through this program, students will take AI and semiconductor-related courses along with Chinese language courses provided by National Taipei University of Technology  (NTUT) and the Chinese Language Training Center (CLTC), and received the funding from MOFA.

 

We are pleased to inform you that the application for 2025 New Southbound Policy Mandarin & Semiconductor Program at National Taipei University of Technology is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

This program, supported by the Taiwan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offers junior and senior undergraduate students from the Indo-Pacific region the opportunity to study semiconductor-related courses alongside Mandarin language courses in Taiwan. The program runs from September 2025 to January 2026, with funding that covers tuition, accommodation, monthly living expenses, and a round-trip airfare subsidy.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Undergraduate students (S1)
  2. The applicant should not be a PRC (including Hong Kong and
    Macau) passport holder or a Taiwan (ROC) passport holder
  3. The applicant should not be a recipient of any financial aid from the
    government, agencies or educational institutions of Taiwan

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. A copy of passport profile page
  2. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
  3. Curriculum Vitae
  4. Proof of English Proficiency
  5. One page study plan in English
  6. One minute self-introduction video in English

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Apply directly to National Taipei University of Technology. Kindly refer to the application form. 
  2. The deadline is 4 July 2025.
  3. The FINAL decision is from National Taipei University of Technology.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
