Greetings from the Budapest University of Economics and Business!

Budapest University of Economics and Business is the biggest university in Hungary dedicated to business education. With a student population of nearly 20,000, this institution is a hub for aspiring professionals in various fields.

 

We are pleased to inform you that the application for Free Intensive Week Courses in Budapest Univesity of Economics and Business is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

PROGRAM INFORMATION

  • The courses are designed with 5 days ( 1- 5 September 2025) of in-person training in Budapest complemented by an online session, , allowing participants to apply for Erasmus funding.

  • Each course will grant 3 ECTS credits and includes guest speakers from relevant industry corporate partners.

  • All additional costs (transportation, accommodation etc.)  must be covered by the participant.

 

COURSES OFFERED

  • Intercultural competencies in an international environment 

    This 5-day intensive course offers students a dynamic, hands-on introduction to develop their intercultural competencies. Through a combination of interactive lectures, workshops, group tasks in international teams, critical incident analysis, and individual presentations, the participants will deepen their understanding of cultural diversity and develop practical strategies for effective intercultural interaction.

  • What’s on the menu? Develop your English Skills with Sustainable Fine Dining

    This course develops English communication skills through the lens of sustainable fine dining. Students will build vocabulary and fluency using real-life materials such as menus, interviews, and case studies. A guest speaker from the Michelin Green Star restaurant Villa Kabala will share insights into sustainability in high-end gastronomy.

  • How to Ace Meetings: From Small Talk to Closing the Deal

    Master the art of international business communication in this practical, situation-based course. From breaking the ice with small talk to confidently closing deals, you’ll develop essential vocabulary, grammar, and cultural fluency for meetings across global contexts. Through interactive role-plays and real-world scenarios, enhance your speaking, listening, and negotiation skills.

  • Super Hoteliers Intensive Week

    Among all tourism services, hotels are among the most complex and dynamic organizations, facing evolving challenges every day. The program offers two focused streams to develop key industry competencies: Revenue Management (ideal for students interested in analytics, forecasting, and hotel property management) and Organizational Development (recommended for those drawn to human, social, and community-focused challenges within the hospitality sector).

  • Back to the future of the banking sector, practical secrets of (green) financing

    The course aims to provide students global knowledge that they can use in their future careers, by introducing them to the practical world, secrets of the financing, and especially the green financing of banking sector. During the week participants will prepare a proposal for a green loan.

  • Communication without greenwashing – Ethical and transparent communication

    ‘Communication without Greenwashing’ is an interdisciplinary blended short course designed to equip learners with the critical knowledge and practical skills required to communicate messages ethically and transparently. This course empowers participants to become credible communicators and informed consumers, capable of recognizing, avoiding and correcting greenwashing practices.

  • Current issues in international business and communication

    This guest lecture series by faculty members from international partner universities provides the participants with insights into current challenging international business and communication issues and good practices. The lectures are related to a variety of fields related to international business, such as strategy, marketing, communication, logistics, finance, HR, social / political / regulatory environment of business etc.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Undergraduate students (S1) or Graduate students (S2/S3) from any programme
  2. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
  3. Be proficient in English
