[Call for Participants] Science Tokyo – Asia Young Scientist and Engineer Advanced Study Program (AYSEAS) 2025

Greetings from Science Tokyo – AYSEAS!

 

Science Tokyo-AYSEAS is a joint educational program organized annually by Science Tokyo and partner universities to bring together students from universities in Japan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Vietnam. Through site visits, discussions, and communication with students from different backgrounds, AYSEAS participants learn about and experience the dynamism of rapidly growing Asian countries. This year, Science Tokyo-AYSEAS will hold the program in Vietnam, hosted by Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

 

We are pleased to inform you that the application for Science Tokyo – AYSEAS 2025 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Duration: 16 September – 25 September 2025
Program Theme: From Asia to the World
Contents: site visits, group discussions, cultural exchange event, final presentation, sightseeing, etc.

Application Guideline

Program Information

 

ELIGIBILITY

1. Undergraduate students (S1) or Graduate students (S2/S3)
2. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
3. Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
4. Be proficient in English

3. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
4. Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
5. Letter of Recommendation from the Academic Advisor
6. Curriculum Vitae
7. Motivation Letter
8. Colored Copy of Passport
9. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download) 
10. Passport Size Photo

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than 21 May 2025 for internal review. Furthermore, you should send an application form to the URL below no later than 21 May 2025 at 23.59 JST:

2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Science Tokyo-AYSEAS  and you may proceed to confirm your intention to join the program.
3. The successful candidates should reply to the Tokyo Tech-AYSEAS Office by the deadline (mid-June).
4. The FINAL decision is from Science Tokyo-AYSEAS.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

• In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
• In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
