Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi) is an autonomous engineering and technology university located in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is one of the eight new Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Recently, the Indian Government has taken an initiative for providing scholarships to students from ASEAN countries for pursuing Ph.D. programs at different Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in India. IIT Mandi is looking for prospective Master and Ph.D. students in different areas from your Institute/University for the upcoming February 2022 semester admissions.
We are pleased to encourage Universitas Gadjah Mada students to apply to IIT Mandi Ph.D. Programs under ASEAN Scholarship scheme.

Eligibility
- Default Doctoral fellowship in India for ASEAN Academic score Requirement = 6/10 or 60% (calculated proportionally for other scales)
- Default Doctoral fellowship in India for ASEAN English Test Requirement: No English Language Certification Requirement
- Minimum No. of Recommendation letters: 2 recommendation letters

- Doctor of Philosophy (5 years) in School of Computing & Electrical Engineering, School of Engineering, School of Basic Sciences, and School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Application Procedure
- Apply online on IIT Asean by Government of India portal
- Select the IITs you prefer and the specific programme/area during the online application
- Each IIT you apply to follows their admission process consisting of an application screening, shortlisting, and possible online interview
- The final consolidated results based on the preferences in your application are reported on this portal
- Submit all the documents directly to the IIT Asean Portal
- Submit your Expression of Interest (EoI) of IIT Mandi no later than November 10th, 2021.
- If you need nomination from OIA, kindly submit your application to OIA by e-mail no later than October 31st, 2021.
- If you need any supporting documents from the Office of International Affairs UGM, please send all documents above in hardcopy (1 copy) to Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur Block F-12) and softcopy (compiled in 1 PDF file) to scholarship@ugm.ac.id.
- The Office of International Affairs, UGM will process supporting documents for the applicants based on the submitted documents.
- The FINAL decision is from Ministry of Education, Government of India.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The implementation/execution of this program will be carefully reconsidered depends on the latest development of COVID-19 and the government’s regulation
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
