As part of the UZH Global Strategy 2030, the University of Zurich (UZH) has officially announced the UZH Global Funding Scheme 2026. This initiative supports collaborative projects that strengthen global networks and advance research, teaching, and institutional impact between UZH and priority partners like Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
We are pleased to inform you that the call for proposals will officially open on 19 May 2026.
AVAILABLE FUNDING LINES
UGM and UZH colleagues can jointly apply for one of three funding tracks:
- Global Outreach Fund (CHF 5,000): Focuses on enhancing institutional visibility and positioning joint research excellence in solving global challenges.
- Global Seed Fund (CHF 5,000): Focuses on enabling early-stage collaboration and proposal development to initiate the acquisition of larger, competitive third-party funding.
- Global Champion Fund (CHF 20,000 – 60,000): Designed for large-scale collaborations with strong institutional buy-in, demonstrating potential for long-term sustainability and global impact.
ELIGIBILITY & SUBMISSION RULES
- Open to academic and professional services staff at UGM who are collaborating (or wish to collaborate) with peers at the University of Zurich.
- The formal grant application must be submitted by the UZH researcher/staff member.
TIMELINE & PROCEDURE
- Connect: Reach out to your existing or prospective peers at the University of Zurich to jointly develop a proposal based on the funding lines above.
- Call Opens: 19 May 2026.
- Application Deadline: 31 July 2026. (The UZH partner must submit the application by this date).
IMPORTANT NOTES
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
