Greetings from the Asia-Europe Foundation!

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) invites youth from Asia and Europe to apply for the ASEFYLS Capacity Training 2026 (ASEFYLS2026). Under the theme “Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centred Future,” this leadership program equips participants with personal and professional skills to lead in an uncertain future and contribute to grassroots community development.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for the ASEFYLS2026 Leadership Programme is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada student leaders.

PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHTS

PROGRAM PHASES & DATES
The program operates in three interconnected phases:

  1. Training Phase (Virtual): 9 June – 30 July 2026. Learn from leading institutions and thematic experts.
  2. Action Phase (In Local Communities): August – November 2026. Implement your learnings to create grassroots impact.
  3. On-Site Leadership Training (Tromsø, Norway): 23 – 29 August 2026. An exclusive, fully funded opportunity for a selected group of top participants.

 

ELIGIBILITY & FUNDING

  • Asian and European youth aged 18–30.
  • Must play a leading role in a Youth Organisation or Student Association (e.g., BEM, UKM).
  • Funding: The online training is fully funded by ASEF. Selected participants invited to the Norway training will receive accommodation, meals, and travel subsidies.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Students must apply directly to the organizers from this link.
  2. The direct application deadline is 12 May 2026.
  3. The FINAL decision is from the ASEF Selection Committee.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
