Greetings from Germany!

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is excited to introduce a brand-new scholarship programme: GROW – Global Research Opportunities for the South. Funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), this program supports short-term research stays, as well as preparatory and cooperation visits in Germany.

Designed to strengthen long-term international research partnerships, GROW empowers researchers to collaborate with leading German universities and translate their findings into real-world impact aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

We are pleased to inform you that the application for the DAAD GROW Scholarship is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada researchers and academics.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Mobility Type: Short-term research stays, preparatory visits, and cooperation visits to Germany.
  • Focus: SDG-driven global research collaborations and knowledge transfer back to the home institution.
  • Network: Direct collaboration with leading German higher education and research institutions.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Early-career researchers, experienced academics, and lecturers at UGM.
  • Note: DAAD especially encourages applications from women and individuals from underrepresented or disadvantaged regions.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Applicants must apply directly to DAAD.

  1. Review the full requirements and prepare your research proposal via the DAAD GROW Website.
  2. The application deadline is [Please check the DAAD website for exact submission dates].
  3. The FINAL decision is from DAAD.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
