[Japan] Toyo University – Summer Program 2026

Greetings from Japan!

Toyo University invites international students to participate in the Toyo Summer Program 2026. Running from late August to early September, this short-term mobility program is perfect for students looking to experience Japan firsthand. Participants will engage in intensive Japanese language classes designed specifically for absolute beginners, cultural activities, and collaborative sessions with local Toyo University students.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

  • Dates: August 24 – September 5, 2026.
  • Language: Intensive Japanese language classes for absolute beginners (no prior Japanese knowledge required).
  • Excursion: A special field trip to Mt. Fuji with Toyo students to learn about environmental issues and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

 

ELIGIBILITY & FEES

  • Active UGM undergraduate or graduate students.
  • Program Fee: 227,000 JPY (approximately $1,430 USD). Note: This is a self-funded program. Please review the official website for details on what is included in this fee.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE Students must apply directly to the host institution.

  1. Complete the online application via the official portal managed by Toyo University Global Service Co. Ltd.: Apply Here
  2. The direct application deadline is 13 June 2026.
  3. The FINAL decision is from Toyo University.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
