Greetings from South Korea!

Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) is a national university with 622 years of glorious history and shining tradition. We are pleased to inform you that the application for SKKU Free Online Korean Language Courses (WISE Program) is now open.

 

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

  • We are pleased to inform you that SKKU will be offering two free online Korean language courses as part of our WISE (Winter International Student Experience) Program. The courses are delivered by the SKKU Language Institute. Our aim is to provide broader access not only to Korean language education but also to Korean culture, and to offer students an opportunity to experience a leading-edge program from one of Korea’s top language education institutions.
  • Course Opening Period:
    – Period: 22 Desember 2025 – 31 January 2026
    – Duration: 2.5 hours per session each day, total of 12 sessions
  • Levels:
    Beginner and Basic
    – Students with no prior experience should begin with Beginner.
    – Students who can read Hangeul (Korean alphabet) may start with Basic.

 

ADDITIONAL BENEFIT

  • We are pleased to share that any student who registers for the WISE free Korean language course will receive a 50% tuition fee discount for the 2026 SKKU International Summer Semester (ISS). The SKKU ISS brings together 800+ students worldwide for a four-week summer experience featuring Ivy League–level international instructors and a wide selection of courses across multiple disciplines, all taught in English on our vibrant Seoul campus. ELIGIBILITY

  • Students from any overseas university (free of charge)

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Apply directly to Sungkyunkwan University. Kindly refer to the Online Application Form. 
  2. The final decision is from Sungkyunkwan University.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Please note that this course is non-credit bearing and self-paced. There will be no exams, attendance requirements, or grading, and the textbook materials will be provided to all registered students. However, as part of the SKKU WISE Program, students will be able to learn using recorded lectures from real SKKU Language Institute classes, providing an authentic and engaging learning experience.
