Greetings from South Korea!

Established in 1918, the University of Seoul is widely regarded as one of the top public universities in Korea. The university has been a think tank for the Seoul Metropolitan Government, contributing to the development of Korean society through education, training of students, and academic research. With 8 colleges and 10 graduate schools, the University of Seoul offers a variety of courses in a thriving academic atmosphere. In February 2026, the Seoul International Winter School program launches at the University of Seoul (UOS). It provides international students from UOS partner universities all over the world with a unique opportunity to learn about Korean Studies including Korean Language. Join us this winter to experience Korea at the heart of Seoul.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for Seoul International Winter School (SIWS) 2026 Program is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • Program Dates: February 8–21, 2026
  • Korean Studies Lectures (in English):
    Topics include K-Pop, K-Dramas & Movies, Korean Cafés, Food & Drink Culture, UNESCO Heritage Sites, and more.
  • Korean Language Classes:
    Intensive, level-based courses from beginner to advanced.
  • Cultural Activities:
    – Field trip
    – Welcome & farewell parties
    – “Design Your Own Seoul” project
    – Interaction with Korean Peer Advocates (PAs)

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Students enrolled at universities abroad as undergraduate or graduate students for the duration of the program. Applicants must have a passport valid for at least 6 months.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Apply directly to University of Soul. Kindly refer to the application website.
  2. The deadline is 30 November 2025.
  3. The FINAL decision is from University of Soul.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
