Tohoku University is a prestigious research university located in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the country’s most prominent and comprehensive universities, known for its excellence in education and research across various fields.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for Tohoku University Japanese Program (TUJP) Winter 2025-26 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

• The programs contain the practical Japanese language, Japanese culture & society, and the exchange with the local students.
• Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply.

 

TUJP WINTER 1

• Date: 05 – 18 December 2025 (2 weeks)
• Credits: 3 ECTS equivalent
• Program Fee: JPY 105,000
• Application Deadline: 30 September 2025, 11:59 PM (JST)
• Admission  Notification Date: Mid October, 2025
• Payment  Deadline: Mid October, 2025

 

TUJP WINTER 2

• Date: 21 January – 03 February 2026 (2 weeks)
• Credits: 3 ECTS equivalent
• Program Fee: JPY 105,000
• Application Deadline: 20 October 2025,  11:59 PM (JST)
• Admission  Notification Date: Early November, 2025
• Payment  Deadline:  Mid November, 2025

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

1. Apply directly to Tohoku University. Kindly refer to the website.
2. The deadline is 30 September 2025 (TUJP Winter 1) and 20 October 2025 (TUJP Winter 2).
3. The FINAL decision is from Tohoku University.
