Osaka University is a prestigious and leading public research university located in Osaka, Japan. We are pleased to inform you that the application for Osaka University International Certificate Program (OUICP) is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students for the duration from December 2024 to the end of August 2025 (Participants are required to stay in Japan for at least 60 days).
Osaka University International Certificate Program (OUICP) is an interactive, hybrid educational program consisting of both online and study abroad courses that makes effective use of Osaka University (OU) ASEAN Campuses. Carried out over the course of 9~10 months, OUICP (Outbound) sends Osaka University students to study at one of OU ASEAN Campuses, while OUICP (Inbound) invites students from OU ASEAN Campuses for a short-term study abroad experience at Osaka University. Osaka University issues a certificate upon successful completion of the program on a specific field with 6 to 8 credits.

OUICP Application Guidelines 2024
Requirements: Participants must take Practical Study Abroad (PSA) courses and study at Osaka University for at least 60 days in one of the following terms:
– Spring Term: March 1 – May 1
– Summer Term: July 1 – August 31
Programs Offered:
1. Halal Science, Technology and Innovation (HaSTI)
2. Advanced Industrial Biotechnology
3. Nanoscience and Nanotechnology as Manufacturing Core
4. Frontier Engineering Science: An Introduction through STEM-Centered Learning
5. Introduction to Computational Materials Design
6. Frontiers in Medical Physics and Medical Imaging
ELIGIBILITY
- Graduate students of Joint Campus counterpart universities (S2/S3)
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Be proficient in English (TOEFL iBT 80 / IELTS 6.0 or higher Cambridge English with CEFR B2 level or higher)

- Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
- Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
- Letter of Recommendation from the Academic Advisor
- Curriculum Vitae
- Motivation Letter & Study Plan (1-2 page short essay)
- Colored Copy of Passport
- Passport Size Photo
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than 10 August 2024 for internal review.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Osaka University and you may proceed to the online application after further information details from Osaka University.
- The FINAL decision is from Osaka University.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id
