Warm greetings from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan!

We proudly announce that Kyushu University (Japan) and Mahidol University (Thailand) will host the 15th ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW) 2023. AsTW is a two-week study program at the undergraduate level designed to deepen understanding of ASEAN and East Asian affairs. Since 2009, Kyushu University has organized the program with our partner universities in ASEAN countries in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN University Network (AUN).

ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW) 2023 will be held on 13 – 24 March 2023 at Mahidol University, Thailand. We welcome applicants from ASEAN countries and the rest of the world. The medium of instruction is English. Kyushu University provides scholarships for the selected participants, mainly from ASEAN countries.

Eligibility

  • Over 18 years old and registered as an undergraduate/graduate student at home university
  • Minimum GPA  3.0 out of 4.0
  • Fluent in the English language for academic purposes (either TOEFL IBT-68/ CBT-190/ PBT-530 or IELTS (Academic) -Band 5.5 or the equivalent)
  • Will continue study at the home university after finishing AsTW

Required Documents*

  1. AsTW Application form
  2. Academic Transcript (pdf)
  3. Completed Reference Letter Form (completed by any academic staff member at your current institution other than a language instructor)
  4. Essay  “Why I want to join AsTW”  (800 to 1000 words)
  5. Language Proficiency Certificate (pdf) TOEFL or IELTS score for non-native English speakers
  6. Certificate/ Proof of Enrollment from the applicant’s home university
  7. Completed Statement of English Proficiency Form (Word or pdf)
  8. Diploma (pdf) only postgraduate students
  9. Certificate of health

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Submit your documents as mentioned above to OIA UGM through http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication to get a recommendation letter no later than December 10, 2022
  • Send your application through astw_program@mahidol.ac.th
  • The FINAL decision of participants is from ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW) 2023
