[Japan] Utsunomiya University – Exchange Program for Spring 2023

Greetings from Utsunomiya, Japan!

 

Utsunomiya University is located approximately 100 kilometers north of Tokyo in the city of Utsunomiya, the prefectural capital of Tochigi. The traveling time to Tokyo is about 50 minutes by high-speed Shinkansen train and 80 minutes by ordinary train. It takes approximately three hours to reach Narita Airport by expressway limousine bus. The Tokyo Sky Tree broadcasting tower, soaring to a height of 634 meters and completed in the spring of 2012, is approximately two hours away by train on the Tobu Utsunomiya Line.

 

We are pleased to inform you that the Application for Utsunomiya University exchange program in Spring 2023 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Application Guidelines 

Admission requirements for engineering

Eligibility

  • 3rd to 6th-semester undergraduate students (S1)
  • 3rd to 4th-semester graduate students (S2/S3)
  • Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program

Required Documents

  1. Curriculum Vitae
  2. Motivation Letter
  3. Application form (download)
  4. Letter of Nomination from faculty (*addressed to Head of Office of International Affairs)
  5. Certificate of Enrollment from Faculty
  6. Colored Copy of Passport
  7. Passport-size photo (2 pieces, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background color, taken within the past three months)
  8. Affidavit for Sponsor (download)
  9. Application for Certificate of Eligibility(download) *It consists of three sheets. 
  10. Bank certificate of your sponsor *Formal documents issued by the bank are required (copy of passbook is not accepted). *The savings of at least ¥1,000,000 is desirable for a one-year exchange.
  11. Copy of Japanese Language Proficiency Test result (optional)
  12. Copy of English Language Proficiency Test result (optional)

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form:http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than October 15th, 2023 for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Kumamoto University and you may proceed to the online application.
  3. The FINAL decision from Kumamoto University

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for spring/even semester in AY 2022/2023 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
