Greetings from Nara Women’s University, Japan!
Established in 1908, Nara Women’s University is one of two national women’s universities in Japan, along with Ochanomizu University. Nara Women’s University (NWU) was originally created to foster women who can succeed in society through education and research. Therefore, NWU’sregular students are all female and most of the exchange students are female as well. As in 2013, NWU has three faculties that focus on humanities and sciences.
We are pleased to inform you that the Application for Nara Women’s University (NWU) Student Exchange Program AY 2022/2023 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

Eligibility
- 3rd to 6th-semester undergraduate students (S1)
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
- Be proficient in Japanese (N3 or above for liberal art/humanities program) and English (Minimum TOEFL – ITP=550, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0.)

- Application form for Nara Women’s University (Nara 2022 Exchange Application Form)
- Four photos (W:3cm x L:4cm, white background color, taken within the past three months) *including one used for the application form
- Transcript with grades (from the student’s home university)
- Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
- Health Certificate issued within a year before enrolling in NWU (A medical certificate issued by the university is acceptable)
- Recommendation Letter from Academic Advisor
- Certificate of Japanese language ability (results of Official Japanese Language Proficiency Examination or a Recommendation letter from a Japanese language Instructor.)
- English language proficiency (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=550, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
- Colored Copy of Passport
- Curriculum Vitae (Nara 2022_CV Form)
- Financial statement (This document is required to prove a student can meet his/her living expenses during his/her stay in Japan. A certificate issued from a bank which proves the existence of the financial supporter’s (as mentioned on the application) bank account, the account number and the balance is acceptable.)
- Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
- Motivation Letter
- Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)
Application Procedure
- Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form : http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than October 15th, 2022 for internal review.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Nara Women’s University and you may proceed to the online application.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
- The implementation/execution of this program will be carefully reconsidered depends on the latest development of COVID-19 and the government’s regulation
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
