Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA), is a statutory SW entity established under the Ministry of Science and ICT of the Republic of Korea and supports overseas expansion of Korean software companies and international cooperation activities. As a part of its effort to promote international exchanges, KOSA has established a marketplace to support the expansion of Korea’s excellent SanS API into South-East Asian markets and wishes to host a hackathon that utilizes the marketplace. This hackathon is co-organized with Naver Cloud, a Korean global cloud platform provider, and will take participation applications from December 6 (Monday) to December 23 (Thursday). In order to make this world a better place by adding creative ideas to ever rapidly changing flow of business in the COVID-19 pandemic, the theme ‘New Normal in the Post-COVID-19 Era – The Beginning of Innovation Using Cloud’ was chosen.
30 teams in the main hackathon round may utilize various APIs from 10 Korean companies in the hackathon to develop their ideas. Further, they may receive technical support and feedback through mentoring sessions with Korean companies. 8 teams with the most brilliant ideas will be selected for the final round and awards will be given after their final presentations. The major targets of this hackathon are undergraduate and graduate students, developers, and engineers in South-East Asia. All hackathon programs will be operated online in English.
The team that wins the hackathon will be awarded with a total prize of 5,000 dollars, and two first runner-up and five second runner-up teams will be given a prize of 3,000 dollars and 1,000 dollars each. A participation award of 500 dollars will be given to all teams that complete all hackathon program schedules even if they are not chosen to enter the final round.
