[South Korea] 2022 SKKU Winter International Student Experience (WISE) Program

Greetings from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea!

Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) is a national university with 622 years of glorious history and shining tradition. We are pleased to announce that Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) is offering the Winter International Student Experience (WISE) Program for Universitas Gadjah Mada Students. This program gathers students who are interested in learning more about Korea’s history, culture, and language entirely online for their safety and convenience.

Eligibility

  • Enrolled as Universitas Gadjah Mada students during the program
  • Proficient in English and interested in Korean language and culture

General Information

  • Program Dates: January 10 to January 28, 2022
  • Courses: Two tracks – Advanced Korean Studies and Intensive Korean Language Course
  • Credits: Students can take between 1 and 2 credits which are 15 to 30 hours
  • Price: 10,000 KRW (8.50 USD/7.50 Euro) application fee

ADVANCED KOREAN STUDIES

Subject

  • Students studying overseas and majoring in Korean Studies or Korean Language
  • Foreigners with intermediate or higher korean language skills
  • Overseas Koreans studying at foreign universities

Course Information

  • Program Dates: January 10 to January 28, 2022
  • Course Language: 7 Korean Studies Courses (5 in Korean, 2 in English), 7 Language Courses (only in Korean)
  • Every course is online, however the lecture type of each course may differ
  • Speaking courses are real time based and the rest of the courses may vary

1 WEEK INTENSIVE KOREAN LANGUAGE COURSE

Course Information

  • 1st Course Schedule Jan 10 ~14, 2022 (5 days)
  • 2nd Course Schedule Jan 17 ~21, 2022 (5 days)
  • 3rd Course Schedule Jan 24 ~28, 2022 (5 days)
  • This is a 5-day Intensive Korean Language Course.
  • Classes are held 3 times in total, and you can choose the period that suits you best.
  • You can acquire 1 academic credit.
  • Korean classes are presented in real-time.

  • Form of Nominees (download via this link 2022 WISE Nomination List, fill only your information)
  • Proof of English/Korean language proficiency
  • Academic Transcript (in English)

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Submit your aforementioned documents through http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than December 24th, 2021 for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) and you may proceed to the online application.
