Warm greetings from the Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan!

We proudly announce that the Kyushu University (Japan) and the Mahidol University (Thailand) will host the 14th ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW) 2022. AsTW is a two-week study program at the undergraduate level, designed to deepen understandings of ASEAN and East Asian affairs. Since 2009, the Kyushu University has organized the program with our partner universities in ASEAN countries, in cooperation with the ASEAN Secretariat and the ASEAN University Network (AUN).

General Information

Date: March 7 to 18, 2022 [ONLINE]

Eligible Applicants: from ASEAN countries and the rest of the world.

Medium of instruction: English.

Scholarships provided for the selected participants mainly from ASEAN countries.

Topics of the Course

  • Asian Language and Cultures (ALC)
  • Asean Studies
  • Cultural Exchange

Eligibility

  • Over 18 years old
  • Possesses good academic standing (has the equivalent of a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) score of at least 3.0 out of 4.0)
  • Fluent in the English language for academic purposes (either TOEFL IBT-68/ CBT-190/ PBT-530 or IELTS (Academic) -Band 5.5 or the equivalent)
  • Will continue study at the home Party after finishing AsTW

  4. Completed Reference Letter Form (completed by any academic staff member at your current institution other than a language instructor)
  5. Essay (Word) Title : Why I want to join AsTW  (800 to 1000 words)
  6. Language Proficiency Certificate (pdf) TOEFL or IELTS score for non-native English speakers
  7. Certificate/ Proof of Enrollment from the applicant’s home university
  8. Completed Statement of English Proficiency Form (Word or pdf)
  9. Diploma (pdf) only postgraduate students

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Send your application through astw_program@mahidol.ac.th no later than December 31, 2021
  • The FINAL decision of participants is from ASEAN in Today’s World (AsTW) 2022. No nomination is needed from OIA UGM, but kindly submit your aforementioned documents through http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication for internal review and records.
