Warm greetings from Kyoto University, Japan!

 

Kyoto University is a public research university located in Kyoto, Japan. A university with history as it is the second oldest university in Japan and was the alma mater of 5 prime ministers of Japan. The university has three campuses with the Yoshida Campus being the main campus. Kyoto University is consistently ranked among the top universities in not only Asia but in the entire world.

 

“AUN-KU Winter Seminar on Human Security Development through Energy Science” is co-organized by the Graduate School of Energy Science (GSES) of Kyoto University and the ASEAN University Network-Kyoto University Student Mobility Program toward Human Security Development. It is designed for undergraduate students to study the concept of Human Security Development (HSD) through Energy Science. The main theme of this seminar is energy science, which is an important issue for HSD. The participating students are expected to deepen their knowledge on HSD through energy science with the prospect of finding solutions to technological, socio-economic and political issues, focusing on the Asian region. The seminar will offer lectures and class discussions as well as organized field trips and cultural events. Applicants are not limited to engineering, economics, or science – all fields are welcome.

Eligibility

  1. Undergraduate students (S1)
  2. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
  3. Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  4. Commit to attend all the classes and events in the seminar. (Not allowed to participate if you arrive late or leave before the end of the seminar.)

Application Procedure

  1. Applicants shall submit the application package directly to ASEAN University Network via Google form. https://forms.gle/YiuZyaPFZTMdmVyq7
  2. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form:http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication
  3. Deadline for both submission is no later than 15 September 2021, now EXTENDED Deadline by AUN Kyoto Committee by 8 October 2021.

Certification

The Graduate School of Energy Science, Kyoto University, will issue a certificate to students who complete the seminar program.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for fall/odd semester in AY 2021/2022 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation
