Greeting from the Global Campus of Human Rights through the Asia Pacific Master of Arts in Human Rights and Democratization (APMA)!

We are pleased to announce that the application for the APMA Scholarship Program 2021 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada civitas.

The APMA Scholarship Program is a collaboration between the Department of Politics and Government of Gadjah Mada University with a consortium of universities in Asia (Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies Mahidol University Thailand, Kathmandu School of Law Nepal, Ateneo de Manila Law School the Philippines, University of Colombo Center for the Study of Human Rights).

The duration of this scholarship program is 1 year. Students will attend lectures at Mahidol University (Semester I) and move to another country (Semester II).

This program is designed for those seeking a better understanding of regional and global human rights and democratization issues. This program is perfect for human rights practitioners and activists, working in related fields, or for new students who have just completed an undergraduate program.

At the end of the program, students will get:

1) Excellent knowledge of the theory and practice of the promotion and protection of human rights and democratization.

2) Test their ability to carry out independent scientific research on current human rights and democratization issues in the Asia Pacific region;

3) Capacity to apply their academic understanding of human rights and democratization to use in real situations.

Eligibility

  • Last semester undergraduate students (S1) or alumni
  • Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program (for last year students)

  3. Academic records officially translated in English – degree certificate of graduation and transcript of records
  4. Research concept note
  5. English language test certificate(s)
  6. Curriculum Vitae
  7. Scanned copy of passport
  8. Reference contact information (recommendation letters must be sent by referees separately)
