[Japan] Tohoku University – Japanese Program (TUJP) Online 2021

We are pleased to inform you that the call for Tohoku University Japanese Program (TUJP) Online 2021 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

 

 [TUJP Online-2] Academic Japanese Program 

Date: May 27th – June 16th (3 weeks)

Eligibility: Pre-intermediate or Intermediate Japanese Learners

Application deadline : April 1st 2021

 

[TUJP Online-3] Intensive Japanese Communication Program 

Date: June 21st – July 16th (4 weeks)

Eligibility: Basic Japanese Learners

Application deadline : April 22nd 2021

 

 

Note :

  1. All classes will be provided via Google Classroom, Google Meet or Zoom Meeting secured by Tohoku University.
  2. All the fees must be paid via our online payment system by the deadline.
  3. (Valid Credit Card: VISA, Mastercard, JCB, and AMERICAN EXPRESS)
  4. Processing charge (approx.1,000 JPY) will be added.
  5. Refund is not possible once students have made a payment of the Program fee.

 

Program Fee

  1. TUJP Online-2:  JPY 45,000 (approx. USD 430) 
  2. TUJP Online-3:  JPY 60,000 (approx. USD 570) 

 

Eligibility

  1. 5th to 6th-semester undergraduate students (S1)
  2. Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
  3. Have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
  4. Be proficient in English. Non-native English speakers must have a score of at least TOEFL ITP 550, TOEFL iBT 79 or IELTS 6.5.

 

Required Documents

  1. Official Academic Transcript
  2. Color copy of the passport
  3. Motivation Letter (300-400 words)
  4. Certificate of English proficiency test (ex. TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS)
  5. Result of TTBJ/SPOT90 Online Japanese Test (if any)
  6. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)

 

Application Procedure

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form:http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than April 1st, 2021 for TUJP online 2 and April 22nd 2021 for TUJP online 3  for internal review and nomination.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Tohoku University and you may proceed to the online application via this link.
  3. The FINAL decision from Tohoku University

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
  • Application of outgoing mobility for spring/even semester in AY 2020/2021 will be processed but the implementation/execution will carefully consider the latest development of COVID-19 and government’s regulation.
