Geological Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada proudly presents:
International Summer Field Course in Geosciences: Fire and Water – Volcanism, Groundwater, and Society (14 – 27 July 2019)
BACKGROUND
Volcanic environment gives two elements of natural resources from geological process to human civilization and their social-economy i.e. fertile soils from eruption (Fire element) and groundwater or aquifer (Water element). The dynamic, connectivity and interaction between ‘fire’ and ‘water’ elements need a holistic knowledge to disseminating measures and constructive solutions to the society and policy makers towards possible problems and challenges of their living environment in the near future. To encourage a synergy between geoscience, geoengineering, geo-society, geo-environment and geo-cultural heritage which related to volcanic environment, this year UGM proudly present the International Summer Field Course in Geoscience 2019 entitled “Fire and Water – Volcanism, Groundwater and Society”.
