[Philippines] Tokyo Tech – AYSEAS 2017

[This program is self-funded]
To provide a joint study program for students from Tokyo Tech- AYSEAS member universities in Japan, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia and Vietnam. Participants can learn much from the dynamism of fast-growing Asia in industry, education and governance through discussion and communication with students from different backgrounds. Tokyo Tech-AYSEAS is the successor to the Japan- Asia Young Scientist and Engineer Study Visit (JAYSES) program, which ran from 2007 to 2012.

PROGRAM OFFERED

11-day study visit to the Philippines (Manila)
(September 11 – September 21, 2017)
(1) Site Visits: Participants will visit Philippine and Japanese companies,
government organizations, educational facilities, and research institutes, etc.
(2) Discussion: The participants will separate into several groups to exchange
opinions on selected topics.
(3) Presentation: Each group will prepare a presentation after the discussion.
 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

(1) Application: Students who would like to participate in the program should download the application form from the Tokyo Tech-AYSEAS website:

Fill it out and send it to the Tokyo Tech-AYSEAS Administration Office by email: ayseas@jim.titech.ac.jp
Deadline: Monday, 31 May 2017, 23:59 Japan Standard Time
(2) The Tokyo Tech-AYSEAS Administration Office will forward the application forms to the students’ home universities for selection.
(3) The member universities nominate the successful applicants from their universities and send the results to the Tokyo Tech-AYSEAS Administration Office.
(4) After receiving nominations from member universities, the Tokyo Tech- AYSEAS Administration Office will send the acceptance notices to each successful candidate asking about his/her intention to join the program.
(5) The successful candidates should reply to the Tokyo Tech-AYSEAS Administration Office within one week of receiving the acceptance notice.

EXPENSES

Participating students are responsible for the cost of their:
1) Airfare (Home → Manila → Home)
2) Accommodation: about 1250PHP per night per person with breakfast We will charge the accommodation fee in the case of cancellation within several days before departure
3) Travel insurance
4) Meals during the program
5) Personal Expenses (snacks, souvenirs, etc.)
