Exchange Student Program
for 2017 Spring Semester
◆ Korean Language Courses
- CBNU offers Korean language courses.
- Three levels of Korean language class: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced each class includes speaking, listening, writing, reading, and grammar courses.
- Only for undergraduate students.

◆ Period of study
: 1 semester or 1 academic year
◆ Financial support
: Tuition Fee waived
Dormitory Fee waived (It is variable according to the agreement condition and CBNU scholarship policy)
◆ Insurance
- Students must purchase insurance and submit it to the OIC upon their arrival.
- If students want to purchase insurance in Korea, the fee is approximately 130,000 KRW per year.
- The insurance covers the cost of regular treatment, medicine, surgery, and hospitalization at a hospital.
– note: The insurance does not cover dental and a cosmetic procedure.
◆ Residence Hall
- Fee: Approximately 1,000,000 KRW/semester for the dormitory
-note: Maintenance fees and meals are included. Divided payments are not accepted.
- Facilities
– Two persons in a room.
– Students have three meals a day in dormitory cafeteria except Saturdays and Sundays. They are banned from cooking in the dormitory for safety reasons.
– Each room is furnished with desk, chair, air conditioner, bed, wardrobe, bathroom. Broadband internet access is available.
– Students bring their own blankets, a pillow, and toiletry (soap, towels).
– Other Facilities: Reading room, Computer Hall, Laundry Room, Ironing Room, Convenient Store, Audiovisual Room
- Students should pay dormitory fee about USD 900 into bank account designated by CBNU before they leave home country at the end of January.
The payment date and bank account information will be informed by email.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

• Certificate of Enrollment from faculty
• Official academic transcript
• Letter of Recommendation from academic advisor
• Colored copy of passport
• Passport-size photo (4 pieces, 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background color, taken within the past three months)
• Certificate of Tuberculosis Test Result (if the result is tested positive {+}, the student cannot be accepted studying in CBNU)
• Letter of Nomination from faculty (*addressed to Head of Office of International Affairs)
• English language proficiency (Min. Score of TOEFL – ITP=550, iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0)
• Korean language proficiency (*if any)
• Curriculum Vitae
• Motivation Letter
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1) Submit the aforementioned documents to Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur F-13) for internal review.
2) OIA staffs will evaluate your application.
3) Once you are selected as Nominated Student, OIA will send your application to CBNU as for host university selection.
4) FINAL decision from CBNU.
Please send all documents above in 2 COPIES to Office of International Affairs, UGM (Bulaksumur Block F-13) no later than December 9, 2016.
