Greetings from Japan!

Toyo University is a private university located in Bunkyo, Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1887, it is one of the oldest private universities in Japan. Toyo University offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields of study, including humanities, social sciences, business administration, law, economics, science and engineering, information sciences, and international studies.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for 2025 Spring Business Japanese Courses by Toyo University is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students and academic community. These courses are designed for learners and educators interested in developing or teaching business-level Japanese language skills.

 

Please find the details of the available courses below.

1. Introduction Course to Business Japanese I 

This course is aimed at those who are beginning to learn business Japanese and deals with introductory content to acquire basic language knowledge and to understand business culture and etiquette. The purpose of this course is to acquire basic knowledge of business Japanese and to prepare for working in Japanese in the future.

  • Course period: 21 May 2025 – 31 August 2025 (JST)
  • Application period: 25 April 2025 – 13 July 2025 (JST)
  • Fee: 2.200 JPY
  • Target: Those who have Japanese ability equivalent to N2 (JLPT) or higher.

2. Preparation Course for BJT BusinESS Japanese Proficiency Test I 

This course is aimed at learners of the BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test sponsored by the Japan Kanji Proficiency Test Association. This is a test preparation video course that deals with the outline explanation of the test, the tendency of questions, and the solution method. Not only will you learn the format of the questions and learn the key points for solving them, but it will also help you improve your overall Japanese language skills, including the vocabulary, grammar, and culture used in business situations. Both first-time test takers and those who have taken the test in the past are welcome to attend.

  • Course period: 22 May 2025 – 31 August 2025 (JST)
  • Application period: 25 April 2025 – 31 July 2025 (JST)
  • Fee: 2.200 JPY
  • Target: Those who have Japanese ability equivalent to N2 (JLPT) or higher.

3. 2025 Spring Introduction to Business Japanese Teaching

This course is intended introductory course for all those who are interested in teaching business Japanese and can learn specialized knowledge useful for “teaching business Japanese. Experts in linguistics, Japanese linguistics, and Japanese language education will lecture on each topic from both theoretical and practical perspectives.

  • Course: 21 May 2025 – 31 August 2025 (JST)
  • Application Period: 25 April 2025 – 31 July 2025 (JST)
  • Target: Those who have Japanese ability equivalent to N1 (JLPT) or higher.
  • Fee: 2.200 JPY
