Greetings from Ibaraki University, Japan!

Ibaraki University, situated in Mito, Japan, is a prominent institution known for its commitment to academic excellence and research innovation. Established in 1949, the university offers a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various disciplines, including science, engineering, humanities, and agriculture. With a strong emphasis on fostering global perspectives, Ibaraki University actively engages in international collaborations and provides students with opportunities for cross-cultural learning.

We are pleased to announce that we are now accepting nominations and applications for the IU Incoming Exchange Program AY2027  For Universitas Gadjah Mada Student.

  1. Ibaraki Japanese Language and Culture Program
  2. General Exchange Program

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must meet all of the following conditions.
(1) Are full-time undergraduate/graduate students at the home institution
(2) Demonstrate excellent academic performance and personal integrity
(3) Do not intend to obtain a degree at Ibaraki University
(4) Have a clear purpose and plan for studying abroad with the aim of benefiting from studying in Japan
(5) Registered as full-time students at the partner university during the period of study

in Japan, and will return to the home university for remaining courses and graduation after completing studies at Ibaraki University

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENT

  1. Nomination of the Applicants for IU Exchange Program (Download)
  2. Application Form for IU Exchange Program (Download)
  3. Study plan in Japan (Download)
  4. Health Certificate of an International Student for IU (Download)
  5. Certificate of Enrollment in English
  6. Academic transcript
  7. Photocopy of passport (page with face photo and information)
  8. Face photograph image data (JPG/PNG)
  9. (If available) Copy of Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) certification

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication

Due date for the first semester in AY 2027: October 1, 2026
Due date for the second semester in AY 2027: January 20, 2027

      2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Ibaraki University and you may proceed to the online application.

      3. The FINAL decision is from Ibaraki University.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
