Waseda University is a prestigious private research university located in Tokyo, Japan. Established in 1882, it is one of the oldest and most well-respected universities in the country. Waseda is known for its academic excellence and diverse range of programs, offering undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees across various fields of study.
We are pleased to inform you that the application for Waseda University Exchange Program Fall 2025 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.
PROGRAM INFORMATION
- Each School/Graduate School/Center has different application requirements.
- The English program in the School of Advanced Science and Engineering has stopped accepting exchange students. Applications for chemistry and physics are not accepted.
- In principle, students can only take courses from the School/Graduate School/Center they apply to. Therefore, students must carefully check the course list when choosing which School/Graduate School/Center to apply.
ELIGIBILITY
- Undergraduate students (S1) or Graduate students (S2/S3)
- Enrolled in Universitas Gadjah Mada during the program
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Be proficient in English or Japanese

- Official Academic Transcript
- Language Proficiency Certificate
- Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
- Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
- Letter of Recommendation from the Academic Advisor
- Curriculum Vitae
- Motivation Letter
- Colored Copy of Passport
- Confirmation Letter of Participation (download)
- Passport Size Photo
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than 14 February 2025 for internal review.
- OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Waseda University and you may proceed to the online application no later than 1 March 2025.
- The FINAL decision is from Waseda University.
IMPORTANT NOTES
- In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
- In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id
