Greetings from Soongsil University!

Soongsil University is a private research university located in Seoul, South Korea. It was founded in 1897 as the first modern law school in Korea and has since grown to become a comprehensive university with a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields, including engineering, business, humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The university is known for its strong emphasis on entrepreneurship and innovation, and its commitment to educating students to become global leaders in their respective fields. Soongsil University also has a number of research institutes and centers that focus on areas such as renewable energy, advanced materials, and smart city technologies, among others.

PROGRAM INFORMATION

Soongsil University International Summer School will be held in 2 session, 4 weeks in July and 3 weeks in August (Korean Immersion Program). It would be a wonderful opportunity for students to learn Korean culture and language and mingle with international students. Universitas Gadjah Mada students will be provided with applicator fee waiver, full or half housing fee waiver scholarship, and partial program fee waiver scholarship.

  • 2 courses (3 credits each) and 4 cultural activities
  • Soongsil International Summer Friends (Buddy Program) and Language Exchange Program

  • Application Fee: KRW 100,000
  • Program Fee: KRW 2,200,000
  • Housing Fee: Approximately KRW 550,000

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than May 10th, 2023 (Session I) or June 5th, 2023 (Session II) for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Soongsil University and you may proceed to the online application.
  3. The FINAL decision is from Soongsil University.

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id
