20 slots will be offered to both international and domestic students to undertake hands-on laboratory experience.
Financial support will be provided to participating students such as return airfare, accommodation and scholarship during the program period of July 1 to August 26, 2016.
During the eight-week, students will gain research knowledge, and opportunity to network with other students and professionals, and gain invaluable insight to life as a graduate student. In addition to research experience, students also participate in a two-day symposium and various workshops and other educational and cultural based activities.
Required Documents:
1) Statement of Purpose. In your statement of Purpose, be sure to:
– Describe why you chose a particular laboratory as your first choice, and what you expect to learn at that laboratory.
– Propose a research project, which you plan to follow at your chosen laboratory. The proposal must include the background, purpose of your research, experimental methods, and anticipated results.
2) (Two) Recommendation Letters
3) Official Academic Transcript
4) English/Japanese Test Scores achieved within last three years
5) Nomination Letter from Faculty

In case the above-mentioned program (in Kyoto University) dates conflict with your academic calendar, we would like to introduce that University of Tokyo also offers this program.
Each host institution has its own application process.
Students can apply to participate at as many host institutions as they are interested in as long as they meet the eligibility criteria.

4) Questionnaire Quitionaire
5) English/Japanese Test Scores achieved within last three years
6) Letter of Reference: At least ONE Letter of Reference must be issue by a faculty member at your current institution who knows your educational background, academic performance and your motivation to attend the Amgen Scholars Program.
5) Nomination Letter from Faculty
