Greeting From Japan!

Kanda University of International Studies (KUIS), located in Chiba, Japan, is a private university renowned for its strong focus on language education, international studies, and global communication. Established in 1987, KUIS offers a wide range of programs in foreign languages, international relations, and cross-cultural understanding, preparing students to become globally minded professionals. The university fosters an international learning environment with diverse faculty, exchange opportunities, and partnerships worldwide, making it a hub for students passionate about global engagement.

We are pleased to inform you that the application for The Spring 2027 Exchange Program, Kanda University of International Studies (KUIS) is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Be an active Universitas Gadjah Mada student (Undergraduate, Master’s, or Doctoral).
  2. Be officially nominated by UGM Office of International Affairs (OIA).
  3. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.00.
  4. Have completed at least one year of study before the exchange program begins.
  5. Remain enrolled as a UGM student throughout the exchange period (must not graduate during the program).

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  1. Official Academic Transcript
  2. Letter of Enrollment from Faculty
  3. Letter of Nomination from Faculty (addressed to the Head of Office of International Affairs UGM)
  4. Letter of Recommendation from the Academic Advisor
  5. Curriculum Vitae
  6. Colored Copy of Passport
  7. Confirmation Letter of Participation (download) 
  8. Passport Size Photo 
  9. Motivation Letter
  10. Proficiency in Japanese (if applicable)
  11. English Language Certificate

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Submit the aforementioned documents to UGM International Exposure Application Form: http://ugm.id/IntExposureApplication no later than 10 September 2026 for internal review.
  2. OIA staff will evaluate your application. Once you are selected as Nominated Applicants, OIA will confirm your official nomination to Kanda University  and you may proceed to the online application.
  3. The FINAL decision is from Kanda University

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
