[Mexico] Excellence Scholarships of the Government of Mexico for Foreigners 2026

Greetings from Mexico!

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, through the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID), invites Universitas Gadjah Mada students and researchers to apply for the Excellence Scholarships of the Government of Mexico for Foreigners 2026. This program supports foreign students pursuing undergraduate and master’s level mobility (up to 12 months), full master’s degrees (up to 24 months), and research stays (between 6 and 12 months).

We are pleased to inform you that the application for the Excellence Scholarships of the Government of Mexico for Foreigners 2026 is now open for Universitas Gadjah Mada students.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to foreign students and researchers applying for undergraduate mobility, master’s mobility, master’s degrees, or research stays.
  • Language Requirement: Most academic programs in Mexican universities are taught in Spanish. Applicants are generally expected to demonstrate proficiency in Spanish. Even if the chosen program offers courses in English, having at least a basic knowledge of Spanish is warmly encouraged to ensure a smoother academic and social experience.

 

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

  • Applicants must review the official Call and attach all required documentation strictly according to the instructions within the Academic Cooperation Management System (SIGCA).
  • Please note: Physical applications will not be accepted.

 

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

  1. Apply directly to AMEXCID via the Academic Cooperation Management System (SIGCA).
  2. Kindly refer to http://sigca.sre.gob.mx/login to register and submit your application.
  3. The deadline is 22 June 2026.
  4. The FINAL decision is from the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID).

 

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • In the meantime, the students are required to keep the hard file of all documents until further notice by the Office of International Affairs.
  • In case the faculty could not provide the letter of enrollment and nomination during this period, the official nomination through email from the faculty is acceptable. The official nomination could be delivered to head-oia@ugm.ac.id (cc to scholarship@ugm.ac.id)
