Mental health and psychological counseling are essential components of student life, especially for students who participate in international activities. The International Affairs Office of Gadjah Mada University (OIA UGM) held a Peer Counseling program to address the necessity of using psychology in daily life.

Amelia Jasmine, also known as Amelia, was one of the people who enormously contributed to this program. She is an eighth-semester psychology student who joined OIA UGM as an intern in Batch 3 from February 2021 to August 2021. As an intern at OIA UGM, she created the initial concept for the Peer Counseling program that the internal Peer Counselor would develop in the next batch.

As a team, Amelia performed research by interviewing OIA UGM employees and the President of the UGM Buddy Club to clarify the approach to be followed during the Peer Counseling Program when developing the first concept of the Peer Counseling Program. In addition to her work as a Peer Counselor Intern, she assisted OIA UGM events such as the Overseas Education Expo while an intern (OEX).

Amelia believed that her experience as a Peer Counselor Intern was very beneficial since she learned more about the work description of a Peer Counselor and investigated psychology, which is her profession. During our conversation, she recommended that the intern at OIA UGM be excited and make the most of the internship.

Bahasa Indonesia
