DREaM is a program dedicated to forge and expand partnership amoung youths across the globe. Highlights “Human Empowerment through Community Involvement” as the theme, DREaM 2013 expect 100 students from all over the world to join this event.
What is DREaM?
The 5th DREaM International Students Summer Program is proudly organized by the Office of International Affairs with the relentless support and contribution of student volunteers. This program is dedicated to enhance people-to-people among youths across communities and nations. It is scheduled to be taking place in the middle of August 2013. We expect 150 students from different countries to join this event.
DREaM 2013 highlights Human Empowerment through Community Involvement as the main theme. Human empowerment is an approach focusing on the development in the society, especially the powerless and the minority, comprises many aspects as economic, social, and gender. It cannot be denied that self-initiated community from the deprived situation has brought about many improvements for their livelihood. Resource collaboration from the facilitator at one side and from the community at the other side has been recognized as a good empowerment strategy. By proposing Human Empowerment as the theme for DREaM 2013, we are also increasing people-to-people contact among international students. This theme is in consonance with the University's dedication to better education and contribution to the development of the society. This theme, we believe, is the combination of the community development and engagement for a better future.
